Mermaid Box Card
Good Afternoon Everyone! Today I want to share with you a Mermaid Box Card that I made!
The Mermaid pattern is from Little Scraps Of Heaven Designs and the sea weed and coral are from the Cricut Image Library. All of the little sea creatures and Birthday accessories I used are stamps from Craftin Desert Diva's. I used the following stamp collections: Sweet Wishes, Crabby, Wanna Hug, and Wish Upon a Star. I also used Mermaid Lagoon Sequins from Craftin Desert Diva's. I created this project for the Craftin Desert Diva's Linky Party that you can find on their blog here! The theme for this weeks party is Just For Kids! I thought this Mermaid card would be just perfect for it!
To make my card first I created the box card base out of basic shapes in Design Space. I then attached score lines and sliced the scalloped square to create windows for my underwater scene. I then uploaded the mermaid pattern and the stamp outlines for the CDD stamps. I then sized the mermaid to fit my card, and the stamp outlines to their correct sizes. After I was happy with my design, I cut out all of the pattern pieces with my Explore in plain card stock. I then inked and chalked all of the paper edges to create dimension and shape. Next I stamped the little sea creature images onto their outlines and then colored them in with my Spectrum Noir markers. I then assembled all of the pattern pieces for the mermaid and the dolphin. After that I attached all of the elements to my box card starting with the very back layer and worked my way to the front, creating my scene as I went. To finish I added the sequins to represent bubbles, and then added all of the highlights with a white paint pen. Thank you so very much for stopping by! I hope that you have a wonderful day! -Mindy
